Jennifer Coolidge fans are calling for her to host SNL after she 'tried her ass off' to get on the show
Hilarious actor Jennifer Coolidge reacts to SNL's impression of her while revealing she tried to be cast on the show in the past.
We’d like to join the chorus of fans demanding that The White Lotus superstar Jennifer Coolidge appear on future episodes of Saturday Night Live as a host.
Believe it or not, Jennifer Coolidge actually tried out to be a cast member in the past but fell short, a revelation that the 61-year-old actor made just this past weekend, after she made an "indirect" appearance on the program.
In fact, during this past Saturday’s Christmas episode, which ended up being Cecily Strong’s last before leaving SNL mid-season, cast member Chloe Fineman hilariously impersonated Jennifer in a sketch that everybody is still talking about.

Dubbed Jennifer Coolidge Is Impressed by Christmas Stuff, the skit starred Chloe in a Jennifer-like look (pursed lips, big hair, husky voice) as she reacted to a bunch of random Christmas items boasting the actor’s immediately recognizable way of talking.
"Aw, Christmas lights, so colorful!" Chloe says funnily in the clip. "You know, one year I got the blinking ones. I left my Christmas tree on all night and learned my cat was epileptic.”
The day after the episode aired, Jennifer took to social media to share her reaction to the impersonation.
"Wow! A massive thanks to @NBCSNL!! and to the exceptionally brilliant impressionist Chloe Fineman with your hilarious imitation!! 💕❤️💕💕❤️💕," Jennifer, who recently spoke about feeling "very insecure on set" and how White Lotus has changed that, wrote on Instagram.

She proceeded to reveal her own desire to appear on the show as herself.
"Also, congrats to the new cast members!!," she wrote on Instagram as well. "I know how hard it is to get on that show, I tried my ass off to be one but you actually made it!! What a feat! Happy holidays to you all!! ❤️💕💕❤️💕💕💋🎷🎷"
Unsurprisingly, given Jennifer's popularity, her social media post unleashed a slew of comments from fans demanding NBC showrunners ask her to host an episode in the immediate future.
"If you aren’t the guest for the last show of this season or first of next, we will have failed as a society," one user commented.
"They need to have you host!," another noted.
"Ummmm @nbcsnl Pretty sure now’s the moment to get Jennifer Coolidge to host SNL. it’s beyond overdue!! 👏❤️," a third one wrote.
Even celebrities chimed in, including actor Naomi Watts ("Omg soooo GOOD!! You need to be the next HOST!!"), CNN anchor Don Lemon ("Guest host please") and the Ryan Murphy Productions account ("The Year of Coolidge!").
If you just can’t enough of Jennifer and (spoiler alert!) are sad about how things turned out the White Lotus season 2 finale, we suggest you stream The Watcher on Netflix, in which she plays mysterious real estate agent Karen Calhoun. The hilarious actor will also appear alongside Josh Duhamel and J. Lo in Shotgun Wedding, a romantic action comedy scheduled to premiere on Prime on January 27, 2023.
