GBBO reveals first trailer for new series - as Mary Berry announces a new show too

By Amy Hunt
It feels like forever since we last watched as 12 nervous bakers entered the Great British Bake Off tent, in an attempt to impress Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith and win the coveted title of GBBO winner.
So fans will be delighted to know that the Channel 4 show will soon be on its way back to screens - as the network has revealed a charming new trailer!
Veteran judge Paul Hollywood re-posted the short clip on his social media, signalling the start of the countdown to GBBO's return.
The trailer follows in the same vein as last years, featuring some adorable baked goods singing Christina Aguilera's hit song, Beautiful.
It kicks off with a range of cakes, including some cupcakes, a welsh cake, and a sad-looking chocolate hedgehog cake singing the more sombre lines, including 'Now and then, I get insecure...'.
But things in the hilarious trailer kick up a notch as a rather jumbled looking bake bellows out the line 'I am beautiful' - despite looking nothing like the recipe. We predict this could be a sign of things to come on the show...!
The trailer contines with a range of other cakes and sweet treats singing the well-known hit, until one arrives in the now iconic Bake Off tent, under the watchful eyes of judges Prue and Paul, and presenters Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig.
The trailer has therefore confirmed that the four stars from last year's series will be returning. However, it didn't share an air date for the next season with fans - although it's thought that the show will be back mid-late August.
Fans were left delighted by the new GBBO trailer, sharing their excitement for the return of the baking programme.
One wrote, 'Can't wait xx 😊😊', while another agreed, 'Looking forward to it!!'. A third viewer also commented, saying how much they loved the trailer. They wrote, 'yesss it’s back!!! I just love this advert'.
And although Mary Berry is no longer involved with the popular baking programme, she has also recently announced a return to TV screens as well.
The BBC confirmed yesterday that the former GBBO star will be back with an "ambitious, fun and delicious" new show entitled Mary Berry's Quick Cooking.
The series will see Mary travel to Marrakech, Rome and London, to explore placees that have inspired her own 'quick recipes'.
Of the new show, Mary said, "Being in a rush will never be a problem again. If you're in a hurry and don't want to spend hours in the kitchen, I can show you a world of delicious, quick dishes to tempt any taste-buds."
Sounds like a winner to us!
