Glenn Close goes viral for her 'Da Butt' dance moves at the Oscars and we're speechless

Arguably one of the best moments of the evening

Glenn Close might not have won an Oscar, but her rendition of Da Butt won hearts everywhere.

The beloved starlet had an opportunity to show off her impressive moves during the 93rd Academy Awards, and the show-stopping moment might rank somewhere among Glenn's most iconic roles. At one point during the event, Lil Rel Howery quizzed the audience about Oscar-nominated songs. That was the actress's time to shine.

The Experience Unlimited song—made famous in Spike Lee's School Daze—came on, and Glenn wasted no time.

Ladies and gents: Glenn Close does Da Butt

Everyone loved Glenn Close doing Da Butt, of course

Although the night was filled with historical moments—Nomanland director Chloé Zhao had two ground-breaking wins, as did the makeup team for Ma Rainey's Black Bottom—everyone seemed to gravitate towards these few seconds of silliness. After such a tough year, we all could use a little goofiness, and Glenn delivered. We are forever appreciative of the gesture. Yes, it was scripted, but we still love it nonetheless.

This year, Glenn was up for best supporting actress for Hillbilly Elegy, and many suspected it would be her turn to finally receive the recognition. However, the Oscar went to Youn Yuh-Jung of Minari, who touted the renowned actress.

"I don't believe in competition," Youn said. "How could I win over Glenn Close? I've been watching so many of her performances."

Glenn has been nominated eight times but has yet to nab an award. She joins the ranks alongside the late Peter O’Toole for the most acting Oscar nominations without a win. To us, she is still as talented and lovely as one could imagine, Academy Award or not.

If you're anxious to see the winning (and losing) films for yourself, we've rounded up where you can stream all of the Oscar-nominated movies. (Psst: Hillbilly Elegy is on Netflix.)

We're rooting for you now and always, Glenn!
