Daniel Craig is reported to play to lead role in a TV adaptation of Purity by Jonathan Franzen.
The 20-episode drama, which was originally envisioned as a full-length feature, is being pitched to US networks this week.
The story follows a young girl, Pip Tyler, otherwise known as Purity, who knows very little of her origins, and a German peace activist, Andreas, who Craig is expected to play.
The show will be written by Todd Field, writer and director of In The Bedroom and Little Children, and the book’s author Jonathan Franzen. Scott Rudin, behind The Grand Budapest Hotel and The Social Network, is rumoured to be the producer.
