It was the hottest day of the year so far, but that didn’t stop the celebrities dressing up in all their finery to walk the red carpet at the 2016 British Academy Television Awards.
TV stars and celebrities stepped out at the Royal Festival Hall on the Southbank, and the red carpet looks certainly didn’t disappoint. From LBDs to princess-style gowns and even one or two sparkly suits, the evening’s guests went all out for the most celebrated event in British television.
Suranne Jones kicked off proceedings in her perfectly-fitting LBD. The new mother won the coveted Leading Actress award for her role in the gripping series Doctor Foster, and admitted to suffering from ‘baby brain’ in her acceptance speech – although we’d never have guessed, from how put-together she looked and sounded.

Amanda Holden wowed in a sparkly princess dress from Tony Ward couture. With its stunning train and form-flattering shape, the Britain's Got Talent judge was the belle of the ball.
Strictly's power couple went for opposite ends of the spectrum, but worked so perfectly together. Tess' white gown highlightd her stunning figure perfectly, while Claudia gave us all a lesson in switching up occasion dressing with her black jumpsuit.
It's may not have been everyone's favourite, but we can't help but admire Alesha in this neon fishtail gown, which fitted perfectly.
Great British Bake Off judge Mary was accompanied by last year's winner Nadiya on the red carpet. When GBBO won the award for Best Feature, the pair took to the stage and delivered a heatwarming acceptance speech. Cute!
