Actress and now author Gillian Anderson’s first novel A Vision of Fire (simon&schuster)
is a brilliant page turner of a book that blends clever sci-fi with world politics. In particular her heroine, renowned child psychologist Caitlin O’Hara, is a wonderful relief after all that Nordic Noir TV where the female lead is invariably a terrified victim. Anderson, who worked with US sci-fi author Jeff Rovin on the novel which is the first in a trilogy, says: ‘Jeff is probably the world’s greatest expert on science fiction but I came up with the main character because ultimately I want this to be made into a film, so I was writing a character for myself’. We look forward to next two in the series and ultimately the film!
