Last night the stars of the small screen turned out in their droves for one of showbiz's biggest events of the year - the National Television Awards.

The likes of Ant & Dec, Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield, Tess Daly, David Attenborough and Loose Women stars including Nadia Sawalha and Saira Khan graced the red carpet in their finest suits and dresses, for a night that celebrated the best of television during the last 12 months.

But one lady certainly stole the show. Loose Women presenter Ruth Langsford sported a wonderfully glamorous look, wearing a deep red, off-the-shoulder ball gown by designers KevanJon.

The former Strictly star impressed with a gorgeously bouncy blow dry and a smoky eye make-up look, and paired her dress with a pair of Jimmy Choo shoes. Ruth accessorised her outfit with a sparkling, glittery clutch.

Finally, she finished off her look with a vibrant red lip, and a set of elegant red earrings.

Throughout the day Ruth also documented her get-ready routine in the run-up to the big event.

In the morning, the TV star posted an Instagram picture of herself preparing her skin with a Gatineau Hydrating Face Mask - making sure she looks her best for all of those red carpet pictures.

Alongside the photo, Ruth wrote, "So the preparation for the #nationaltelevisionawards starts early!!! @gatineauuk Masque Aqua hydrating face mask as recommended by @aliyoungbeauty @qvcuk Hope I don't nod off!!"

It's likely that Ruth was using the Gatineau Professional Moisturising Cream Mask with Brush to prep her skin for the TV event - which sells for £42 (for a 200ml tub) from QVC.

Ruth also posted pictures of her finished look before travelling to the O2 Arena for the show, and fans were clearly impressed with her glamorous oufit.

Commenting on her Instagram photos, one fan wrote, "You look beautiful @ruthlangsford red is definitely your colour :) xxx", while another said, "You look amazing!! Xx".

A third fan commented, "Ruth you exuded glamour and style. You outclassed them all!".

While a fourth agreed, saying, "You look stunning Ruth!".

However, it seems This Morning presenter Ruth left behind one very important person as she headed off to the awards ceremony.

She revealed ahead of the show that husband Eamonn Holmes wouldn't be able to make it to the festivities, given that he was still battling an illness he'd come down with last Friday.

On her Instagram, she wrote, "Flying solo at the @officialntas tonight.... @eamonnholmes is too poorly to go 🤒 Missing him already ❤️ #nationaltelevisionawards #ntas", alongside a sweet video of the couple.

In the video, Ruth said, "Look at my little sickly husband", as Eamonn appeared in the video wrapped in a dressing gown, looking rather sorry for himself.

She continued, "This will be the first time I've been to the National Television Awards on my own, without you. He can't even speak."

But clearly Eamonn was left impressed by wife Ruth, despite the fact that he wouldn't be able to join her.

He said, "I may not be able to speak but you're looking far too gorgeous. Have a good night", waving her off.

The 57-year-old also posted a gushing tribute to his wife, sharing a photo of Ruth on the red carpet at the event alongside the caption, "My Lady in Red 💕💖"

While at the event, Ruth picked up awards for both This Morning, for Best Daytime show, and Strictly Come Dancing, for Best Talent Show.

So it looks as though it was a winning night all round for the glamorous presenter.
