This lovely starter recipe can be rustled up in 15 minutes, which makes it one of our quickest and easiest recipes, plus it's delicious too. If you're hosting a dinner party, you want to be able to spend as much time as possible with your guests, with as much prep done beforehand as possible. This baked mozzarella recipe is so easy, you simply need to stick it in the oven for 10 minutes as soon as your guests arrive, so you can concentrate on entertaining, rather than cooking.
Red chicory is quite bitter which goes really well with the smooth taste of the mozzarella, and just as well with the salty prosciutto. You can easily dish this up with some slices of toasted sourdough bread too, if you like.
This one-step recipe really is so hassle-free, you'll find yourself making it time and time again! Sometimes it's best to allow fresh ingredients to speak for themselves, and this is definitely the case in this recipe. Just avoid using buffalo mozzarella, as it's a bit of a waste because it becomes too runny on heating and it will lose its firmness. Make sure you season well with freshly cracked black pepper and a bit of salt, if you choose, right before serving.
