The relatable reason the Queen won't be attending church today

The Queen will today be skipping a weekly royal tradition, royal reporters have shared.

The decision has been made in light of Storm Ciara, with winds hitting up to 70mph.
In otherroyal news,the Duchess of Cornwall was seen looking chic in a blue suit earlier this week.

Normally, on Sunday mornings early in the year, whilst she is spending time at her Sandringham home, the monarch attends a church service.

The Queen, often joined by various members of her family, usually heads to the St Mary Magdalene church, just a short drive from her Norfolk country home.

But royal reporters including the Daily Mail's Rebecca English, explained that she would not be going to church today - for a pretty understandable reason!

It was explained that she will not be attending as a public safety precaution, due to the high winds in the area as a result of Storm Ciara.

Much of the UK today has woken up to loud and blustery winds, and pelting rain - so it makes a lot of sense that the Queen, at 93 years of age - has opted not to venture out into the storm today.

Norfolk itself is experiencing 70mph winds, meaning many local attractions have closed as well.

The Queen has remained at Sandringham - her beloved Norfolk home - since before Christmas. Every year, the monarch stays there until the second or third week of February.

In fact, she recently marked a significant milestone in her life, albeit, a bittersweet one.

The 6th February marked the day that the Queen ascended to the throne, following the death of her father, King George VI.

This year signals 68 years on the throne for the Queen, meaning she is the longest reigning monarch in history.

Every year, the Queen chooses to spend the significant day in quiet reflection at Sandringham, as, of course, it isn't exactly a day of celebraton for her.

She spends the day at Sandringham as is it a royal residence that she loves, and a place that her late father loved too.
