Kylie Minogue is clearly a woman in love. The pop superstar made a rare statement about her boyfriend of two years, Paul Solomons, revealing she got a "magical feeling" when she first met him.

The 44-year-old confessed that she knew she had found something special with Paul after her friends teased her for "acting different" following their first date.

"Yeah I did [get a magical feeling] actually. Maybe not quite like a romance novel, where there are butterflies and stars start shooting through the air! But yeah, definitely," she revealed.

"All my friends said to me, 'You were acting different.' And that's when I knew that there was something. Because I thought I was acting cool but maybe I wasn't."

Kylie admitted that she was encouraged to meet Paul through a mutual friend, but it took her a while before she finally agreed to a date.

She told Heat magazine: "I wasn't interested in meeting anyone at that point, so I kept saying, 'Yeah, but no - one day.' Anyway, eventually that day happened and yeah, we connected, we liked each other.'

Kylie met Paul following her 2017 split from fiancé Joshua Sasse, who she confirmed she was dating back in 2015.

Speaking of her split from the British actor in 2018, Kylie admitted that the break-up was "not a good time" - and that the painful split left her feeling "fragile".

The celebrated Australian singer however also admitted that working on her album, Golden, provided a welcome escape from the heartache, and a light at the end of the tunnel.

"I was quite fragile when I started work on it but being able to express myself in the studio made quick work of regaining my sense of self - writing about various aspects of my life, the highs and lows, with a real sense of knowing and of truth. And irony. And joy," she told The Sun.
