A good espresso martini is perfect for perking up any party. This modern classic, a decadent combination of vodka and strong coffee, makes a delicious summer or Christmascocktail (opens in new tab). The trick to making your espresso martini the best it can be is to use really good quality coffee. This will ensure the basis of the drink will be complex and rich, instead of bitter.
Our espresso martini recipe, by world-renowned mixologist Simone Caporale, has a clever twist. Simone uses a little bit of beer to add the rich flavour of hops to the martini, which makes the drink softer and more luxurious tasting than your average espresso martini. If you're having a few friends for over for adinner party (opens in new tab)then you could make these cocktails as a fun evening activity. Everyone will love making their own Martini and learning how to master this delicious modern classic.
Classically, espresso Martinis are served up in wide Martini glasses but Simone has chosen to pour his into these stylish short glasses for a contemporary feel. Finished off with a Mikado chocolate stick, they’re bound to be a big hit with friends and family.
