Meghan Markle will no doubt be celebrating this week as her mother turns 64.

The Duchess of Sussex has cause for celebration this week as her mother, Doria Ragland, celebrates turning 64.

Doria’s birthday fell on Wednesday this year and while it’s unclear how she celebrated, Meghan and Harry will no doubt have been involved.

Meghan and Harry recently confirmed they’d moved into a new “family home” in Santa Barbara.

Doria lives in Los Angeles, although there were recently rumours that she’d moved in with Meghan, Harry and Archie.

An insider told The Sun, “Doria has her own quarters and whilst a few of Harry’s chums have been ribbing him about living with his mother-in-law, he has a brilliant relationship with her.”

It comes months after Prince Harry and Meghan made the decision to step down from their role as senior royals to enjoy a more "peaceful" life out of the limelight.

Revealing the reason behind the bombshell move, Harry said the couple were left with "no other option" following months of online scrutiny.

"Once Meghan and I were married, we were excited, we were hopeful, and we were here to serve," he explained. "For those reasons, it brings me great sadness that it has come to this.

"The decision that I have made for my wife and I to step back, is not one I made lightly.

“It was so many months of talks after so many years of challenges.

“And I know I haven’t always gotten it right, but as far as this goes, there really was no other option."

Prince Harry, Meghan and Doria have always had a close relationship, with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex even forfeiting Christmas at Sandringham last year with the Queen to spend it with Doria.

It was a big change for Prince Harry – who has always attended Christmas with the royals, except for in 2012 when he was serving in Afghanistan.

At the time, a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess said, “The Duke and Duchess are looking forward to extended family time towards the end of this month.

“Having spend the last two Christmases at Sandringham, their Royal Highnesses will spend the holidays this year, as a new family, with the Duchess’ mother Doria Ragland.”
