Fans online have praised the latest initiative introduced by Prince William, which focuses on supporting the mental health of emergency services in the UK.

  • Prince William took to Instagram to share the news of an “unprecedented agreement” which focuses on the mental health of emergency responders.
  • Touching on his time with the RAF and as an air ambulance pilot, William said that “supporting the mental health of our emergency services is extremely personal to me.”
  • In other royal news, the Queen is 'looking forward' to hosting royal family Christmas—despite heartbreaking milestone and latest health concerns.

Sharing a post to Instagram, William wrote that the scheme “sends a powerful message to all emergency responders that mental health is, and will remain, a firm priority for the UK’s emergency services.”

In the post, William explained that senior leaders representing the national bodies have signed the Mental Health at Work Commitment on behalf of emergency services right across the UK.

As he explained, “It means that, for the first time, a uniform set of standards for supporting the mental health of emergency responders will be adopted and integrated into their workplaces. This is a crucial step in ensuring that the staff and volunteers who work so tirelessly for our nation can be properly protected.”

Sharing why it means so much to him personally, William spoke about his time as an emergency responder working for the RAF Search and Rescue and the East Anglia Air Ambulance.

He finished his moving post with a heartfelt display of gratitude “on behalf of a grateful nation to all emergency responders – from whichever service, doing whatever role, in any location across the UK.”

Fans were moved by the post shared on the official Duke and Duchess of Cambridge Instagram account, with one writing “Your care and compassion shows.”
