Mindy Kaling gives a lesson in timeless style with stunning ivory mini dress - that's our NYE outfit sorted!

It seems like, every week, Mindy Kaling gives us new reasons to admire her impeccable sense of fashion.

Earlier this month, for example, Mindy Kaling took style notes from Kate Midleton with stunning pussy-bow detailing while visiting New York and making appearances on Good Morning America, The View and The Drew Barrymore Show.

Mindy also looked awesome in a crop top and matching skirt this summer - a look that earned her praises from fellow celebrities and fans alike.

This week, the 43-year-old mother-of-two stunned her followers once more when donning a beautiful ivory mini-dress that she paired with sheer black stockings and a pair of high pumps of the same color. In the first series of pictures that she shared, Mindy is seen wearing the dress itself. In the next slide, she added a jacket of the same color to the ensemble, kicking it all up a notch.

It’s official: winter white is the color of the season!

In the caption to her post, Mindy acknowledged as much. 

"I never wear winter white!," she wrote. "I was always so worried about it not being flattering and also about dropping food on it."

She went on to praise her stylist Molly Dickson for taking her "out of my comfort zone" with the outfit by designer Magda Butrym. "I loved it!," Mindy went on. "No red wine stains anywhere! Here's to trying more new fashion risks this year! 🥂"

Giving fans a true behind-the-scenes look, Mindy also included a video of herself getting ready in the series of snaps that she posted so her followers got to see what it really takes to mount these social media photos (a lot of lighting and hair styling!).

As is usually the case with Mindy's posts, her celebrity pals quickly took over the comments section to praise her figure and look.

Samantha Ronson wrote "stunner" while Olivia Wilde opted for "WOW WOW WOW WOW." Busy Philipps spoke for all of us when writing, "Honestly love winter white. This looks amazing 🙌" and Reese Witherspoon captured her feelings with a series of emojis, "🔥🔥🔥."

First landing on the scene as a seriously funny comedian (which she still is!), Mindy has quickly gained notoriety for her sense of style and her candid nature towards a variety of topics, including her relatively recent weight loss. 

"I eat what I like to eat," Mindy said to Entertainment Tonight back in November, also explaining that she's been mostly focusing on portion control. "If I do any kind of restrictive diet, it never really works for me. I just eat less of it. I wish there was something more juicy or dynamic about the way that I've lost a little bit of weight, but that's the way I've done it."
