Lorraine Kelly breaks down in tears during emotional birthday celebrations

So sweet...

Lorraine Kelly is celebrating her 60th birthday, and her TV family made sure the day was memorable for her.

The TV presenter’s birthday is officially tomorrow, but her crew decided to celebrate early and prepared plenty of surprises.

Good Morning Britain’s Ben Shephard was on hand to help out with the celebrations, dressed in a kilt.

He told Lorraine at the beginning of the show, “Your first surprise is, I’m taking over the show today. You have no scripts, no briefs. Nothing. Which, let me tell you, if you do host a live television show that’s the most terrifying thing in the world.

“It’s like being naked, or like wearing a kilt the traditional way. She’s got no idea what is in store!”

She had quite a lot to look forward to, with a few famous faces stopping by to say happy birthday - such as Ninja Warrior UK star Chris Kamara, who jumped out of a giant birthday cake.

The most emotional moment however came when Lorraine - a passionate supporter of the armed forces - was named National Honorary Colonel of the Army Cadets.

“Seriously? Gosh that’s amazing”, she said, clearly overwhelmed with emotion.

“Thank you, goodness me. I’m so thrilled.”

Craig David also stopped by, and the two explained why they have such a close bond.

“We did a crazy trek together for Comic Relief… I was suffering really badly, my feet were covered in blisters, I could hardly eat I had loads of mouth ulcers”, she said,

“Craig saw I was struggling, he picked me up… and took my shoes, my big hiking boots, and my socks off and washed my feet. Then he bandaged them up and then he made me a cup of tea. The nicest man in the world bar none.”

To which Craig replied, “You are amazing… You are a beautiful human being… you just get younger and younger.”

So sweet - happy birthday, Lorraine!
