12 heavy-duty boots you’ll love
It’s official; the weatherman has announced that it is going to snow this week, so we need to get ready.
It's time to dig out those thermals and get your hat, gloves and massive scarves at the ready, winter is finally here. As the old wives' tale goes, if your feet are warm then the rest of your body will be - so you need to get your footwear sorted ASAP. The key to avoiding frosty feet is a well insulated and ready-for-anything pair of boots, more simply put … heavy-duty boots.
Thankfully for us heavy-duty boots have stepped away from awful hiking connotations and had very stylish makeover these past years, meaning they’re not just reserved for the snow. Fancy gold hardware, luxe fabrics, soft to touch faux fur and funky laces are the key motifs to look out for when shopping for this style of boot.
Presenter Holly Willoughby was a big fan of heavy-duty boots during her stint in the jungle. We're pretty sure she'll be digging them out this week when the snow sets.
No need to fear, as these boots are easier to style thank you think; it’s more about getting the confidence to just go for it.
Opt for a slim fit
Like all types of boots, the chicest way to wear them is with a pair of well-fitted jeans, and this couldn’t be truer than with heavy-duty ones.
Slimmer/ skinny cuts are best suited for these as you can tuck them into thick socks for extra warmth. Team with a long-line chunky knit and you’ve got the weekend walk ensemble sorted.

Go for thicker tights
Other easy ways to wear is with a long sleeve midi dress and thick pair of tights. Styling tip - if you’re opting for super bold boots, then make sure your dress is plain to really make them stand out. Slimmer style heavy-duty boots also look great slightly cropped trousers.
So without further ado, here are our favourite heavy-duty boots.
