'I owe him it all' Eamonn Holmes reveals heartbreaking loss

Eamonn Holmes has revealed a heartbreaking loss in an emotional post on social media.

The TV presenter took to Instagram to pay tribute to a man who changed his life when he was just starting out his career, Mr Rory Fitzpatrick.

While he’s now a staple in daytime TV alongside his wife Ruth Langsford – especially during the summer break when the two are in for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield – the 59-year-old didn’t start in a glamorous job.

Revealing that Mr Fitzpatrick gave him his first job as a farming report, Eamonn shared a picture of him holding a baby lamb and paid homage to his former boss.

Alongside the photo, he wrote: ‘I'm 19 in this pic. A Titan of a man gave me a job as a Farming reporter against all the odds. His name was Rory Fitzpatrick and he has passed away. I owe him it all. #RIPMr Fitzpatrick.’

Fans of the TV presenter were quick to send him their well-wishes and praise Mr on his eye for talent.

One said: ‘He did the right thing Eamonn he was a great judge of character, R.I.P Mr Fitzpatrick 💕💞 🙏’.
Another added: ‘He was clearly a great judge of journalistic talent.’
The sad news comes just a few weeks after Ruth lost her sister Julia, who passed away after a long illness.
After Ruth’s break from work, she returned to the This Morning set this week, which Eamonn decided to mark with a lovely post on social media.
He wrote alongside a sweet picture of them: ‘My partner is back in business. Please join us for This Morning on @itvfrom 10.30 for the next 7 , yes I said SEVEN , Weeks.👍😁
Summer is here ! 🌞☀️🌞☀️.’
Our thoughts are with Eamonn and Mr Rory Fitzpatrick’s family at this difficult time.
