Kate Puttick
Kate is a writer and sub-editor for Future Publishing's women's lifestyle portfolio (specifically Woman and Woman's Own) and former managing editor for Future Music and Computer Music magazines.
She has mainly specialised in writing about the position of women in the arts, specifically in the music-making field, and her career highlight was getting the opportunity to interview Annie Clarke aka St Vincent for Future Music in 2024. (Her low-light was losing a wellington in the mud while covering Glastonbury in 2015. While suffering bronchitis. Yet still managing to file several show reviews. How's that for "putting enough welly in"?)
She also writes on topics such as travel, lifestyle and local affairs, and has contributed to publications as varied as The Traveller's Guide to Cursed & Creepy Destinations and The Life Story of Elton John.
Her Bachelor's degree from University College London was in French and she has kept up her love of language-learning since then, learning Italian, Arabic and Irish to varying degrees – as of writing she is just 12 days from the 1,000-day mark on Duolingo, in competition with her dad, who is sadly ahead on 1,100.
