It was the story that shocked and outraged the public when it hit the news last year, and now body shamer Dani Mathers has been sentenced for her appalling conduct in a gym in the US in 2016.
Playboy model Mathers became internationally known for all the wrong reasons after she shared a picture online of a naked woman in her 70s showering in the gym. The exposing and violating photograph was accompanied by a caption written by Mathers which read, "If I can't unsee this then you can't either".
The 30-year-old originally posted the photo from an LA gym last summer. After initially thinking she had got away with the gross invasion of privacy with just an online backlash from fans and social media users, the model discovered she would be prosecuted for her crime in November 2016.
After the incident in July 2016, Dani Mathers took to social media to share a public apology, "That was absolutely wrong and not what I meant to do. I know that body-shaming is wrong. That is not the type of person I am."

However, Los Angeles City Attorney Mike Feuer later announced the decision to prosecute Mathers. He said:"Body shaming is humiliating, with often painful, long-term consequences," he said. "It mocks and stigmatizes its victims, tearing down self-respect and perpetuating the harmful idea that our unique physical appearances should be compared to air-brushed notions of ‘perfect.' What really matters is our character and humanity."
Since the incident, the model has been banned from the gym where the crime took place and Mathers also suspended her social media accounts, only recently returning to Instagram after the backlash.
Mathers previously pleaded not guilty to invasion of privacy. She argued that the charge was too ambiguous. Now, Mathers has been sentenced to 30 days of communitiy service, which will include scrubbing away graffiti, and will be on probabtion for three years.
She was also ordered to pay £45 to replace the backpack see in the original photo so that the victim could not be as easily identified.
