Ellie Fennell
Ellie juggles being Mum to a chaotic blended family of seven with working as a lifestyle and travel writer. Having started in local journalism in Kent, UK, in her late teens, she continued to write while studying Social and Political Science at Christ’s College, Cambridge. After moving to London and travelling the world/ developing her cocktail skills as Global Brand Director for a luxury drinks company, Ellie worked in fashion for several years before returning to her first love of writing after starting a family.
With a Masters in Psychology, Ellie is passionate about delving into what makes people tick and bringing to life their stories. Using the real-life experience of her own ‘modern family’ and their many adventures alongside her diverse range of personal interests, she’s recently covered topics as varied as the Taylor Swift phenomena, helping kids through divorce, Living Funerals and South African Safaris. Ellie contributes to publications such as Woman&Home, Woman, Woman’s Weekly, Good Housekeeping, The Times, Red Magazine, Travel Africa and Family Traveller.
When not engrossed in a feature or ferrying kids to clubs and fixtures around the home counties, she’s happiest with a rosé in hand, boating on the River Thames in Henley where she lives with her husband, two daughters and energetic cocker spaniel, Basil.
