The Killing is back for a third series!

Sarah Lund and her team are returning to solve another case, in the final series of hit Danish thriller The Killing. The new series is coming to BBC Four in November, just a couple of months after it premieres at home in Denmark.

Actress Sofie Grabol is back for ten new episodes in the role that made her an international star - genius Copenhagen police detective Sarah Lund (think Sherlock Holmes in a Christmas jumper).

The first series saw Lund investigate the murder of a schoolgirl, a case that went to the heart of the capital's political elite - and laid waste to single mother Lund's personal life.

If you haven't invested in the box set yet, get cracking before the new series starts - you'll be gripped as Detective Lund's brilliant mind whirs through the case. The series has been remade for an American audience, but we urge you to forget about the faff of subtitles and choose the original - it's impossible to top the cast, script and plot.

We're told that politics remains at the heart of this new series of The Killing, but what sets the show apart is the human touches - the focus on Lund, her family and often heartbreakingly, the victim's family. After two series, we know that Sarah can solve the case - but what will it cost her personal life?
