Strictly star Dan Walker has praised his former colleague Louise Minchin in a heartfelt post, as he gets ready for the Strictly quarter-finals.

Dan's move into reality TV isn't so different from his former colleague who's currently one of the I'm A Celebrity 2021 contestants.

After 20 remarkable years on the news program, the long-time host bid farewell to loyal viewers in September 2021 and many couldn’t help wondering who would replace Louise Minchin on BBC Breakfast.

After many weeks of speculation, it was confirmed that her replacement will be none other than Sally Nugent, who'll already be a familiar face to BBC Breakfast fans. She’s been filling in for Louise from Monday-Wednesday alongside Dan Walker, a much-loved member of Strictly Come Dancing 2021 line-up, before the role was officially made permanent.

In reference to his former colleague, Dan said "Lovely to see Louise being her kind, generous and funny self on #ImACeleb."

Viewers of the hit reality show echoed his sentiment. One user said, "Some people just have it in them." Another added, "I think she'll win it."

The Strictly star is always eager to send out positive messages, despite being on the receiving end of some pretty toxic feedback.

After Strictly's Dan Walker received hate when he was saved for another week, he felt compelled to stand up for himself and his dancing partner. Fed up of the vile trolls harassing him, Dan Walker hit back at critics as viewers are amazed he is still in the show.

Well, those critics might well be eating their words as the Strictly Come Dancing 2021 final gets closer each day and Dan is still a front runner for the glitterball trophy! Only time will tell who wins this year's season but a body language expert predicts this couple’s ‘strong bond’ will see them make the Strictly final.

With everything to play for and the remaining contestants dancing for their lives, you best not miss this week's show on BBC One, this Saturday, December 4, 2021, at 6.40pm.
