The Duchess of Sussex opened up during her ‘tell all’ Oprah interview about how she felt similar to Ariel in The Little Mermaid, who lost her voice when she fell in love with a prince.

• During the interview, Meghan compared herself to Disney’s The Little Mermaid
• This comes after Royal News that Meghan and Harry could lose their royal titles after sensational Oprah interview

Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, compared herself to Ariel from The Little Mermaid in a new interview with Oprah. "I was sitting in Nottingham cottage, and The Little Mermaid came on," said Meghan in the interview.

“And who as an adult really watches The Little Mermaid? But it came on, and I was like, 'Well I'm here all the time I might as well watch this,' and I went, 'Oh my God, she falls in love with the prince, and because of that, she loses her voice,' " said Meghan.

In the 1989 Disney movie The Little Mermaid, Ariel falls in love with a prince and makes a deal with a sea witch named Ursula so that she can be with the prince. Ariel agrees to lose her voice in order to be with the prince.

Meghan then added in the interview, “But in the end, she gets her voice back." Oprah replied, “'And this is what happened here. You feel like you got your voice back?” “Yeah,” said Meghan as she smiled and nodded.

Meghan spoke about being silenced in the interview. She said, "I've always valued independence. I've always been outspoken, especially about women's rights, and that's the sad irony of the last four years, I've advocated for so long for women to use their voice. And then I was silent."

Many fans have been confused by this comparison from Meghan, and many have wondered who the sea witch Ursula is in this analogy. One fan wrote on Twitter, “Um, me. I am the adult woman who watches The Little Mermaid, Meghan. But point made. Who is Ursula the evil sea witch in that analogy, though?”

Other fans appreciated this comparison from the royal. One fan said, “Meghan Markle comparing her experience to The Little Mermaid was on point. She had to lose her voice to be with the Prince, but their happily ever after didn’t start until she got her voice back.”

Meghan revealed to Oprah that her fairytale life does have a happy ending. Oprah asked Meghan, "So your story with the prince does have a happy ending?” Meghan replied, "It does. Greater than any fairytale you've ever read."
