The Great British Bake Off final is approaching in just a few weeks so here is everything you need to know about the 2021 series of the baking show.

Season 12 of the Great British Bake Off has delighted fans over the past eight weeks, so much so that the final for this series has really crept up on us!

The final of the series is scheduled for just a couple of weeks away and fans are desperate to know if it'll be our beloved Jurgen Krauss who will win the show or one of the other fabulous contestants that we have grown to love over the past weeks.

But when will the GBBO final take place and who is still left in the competition to compete for the crown? Here is everything that you need to know about the upcoming Great British Bake Off final...

When is the Great British Bake Off final ?

After the quarter-final on Tuesday, November 9, 2021, there are just four bakers remaining in the tent for the semi-final on Tuesday, November 16, 2021.

After the semi-final, we will be left with just 3 contestants in the competition. The final three contestants will then produce their final bakes and on November 23 and it will be revealed who has won.

This means we have just two weeks to wait until we can see who is the winner of the Great British Bake Off 2021!

Who is still in the GBBO 2021 competition?

Although Season 12 of the baking show began with 12 contestants, the number of Great British Bake Off contestants has been decreasing week on week.

Tom, Jairzinho, Rochicha, Maggie, Freya, Amanda, and George were the first seven contestants to leave the show.

Lizzie, Jurgen, Giuseppe, Crystelle, and Chigs have all made it to the quarter-final after surviving caramel week. Sadly Lizzie was eliminated during the free-from week even though she impressed judges with her incredible showstopper cake.

The bakers still left in the competition and making it to the semi-final are:

Jurgen Krauss

Jurgen Krauss is one of the top bakers that is still left in the competition. This German baker has impressed the judges week after week and has won the Star Baker prize three times during the eight weeks of the competition so far. Jurgen is a fan favorite to win and is going into the semi-final in a strong position.

Chigs (Chirag Parmar)

Chigs is the heart throb of the bake off tent and has caught a lot of attention from the viewers, and not just because of his fabulous bakes. The baker is going into the semi-final in a very strong position after his red velvet free from showstopper earned him the star baker award at the quarter-final.

Crystelle Pereira

Crystelle is the underdog of this semi-final. The baker was nearly eliminated at the quarter final and has only one star baker award to her name, which is the lowest of all the bakers in the tent.

Despite this, Crystelle is an incredibly talented baker and has all won us over with her witty banter with the presenters and her love of miso caramel which she tries to cram into every bake.

Guiseppe Dell'Anno

Guiseppe is one of the stronger bakers in the tent and has performed week after week which has earned him two star baker titles (neck and neck with Chigs). The Italian baker had an average performance during the semi-final and was bested by Jurgen and Chigs who excelled during the free-from week. The baker is going into the semi-final in a strong position and would be a fan favorite to win.

Unlike other competition shows such as Strictly Come Dancing, The Great British Bake Off is always filmed ahead of time in the Summer and then released in weekly episodes over the Autumn.

This means that the bakers who competed in the show already know who the winner of the Great British Bake Off 2021 is. This has led to unfortunate slip-ups in the past, for example when Prue Leith accidentally revealed the winner of Bake Off 2017 hours before the finale was due to air due to a time difference slip up.
