Buckingham Palace has announced that the Queen has canceled yet another royal engagement more than a week after she tested positive for Covid-19 and was reportedly experiencing mild symptoms.
The statement from the palace announced that this meeting was postponed because of advice from the Foreign Secretary, Liz Truss. "The Queen has accepted the foreign secretary's advice that the diplomatic reception at Windsor on March 2 should be postponed," said the statement.
It is unclear why the Foreign Secretary would advise the Queen to postpone this engagement with hundred of Diplomatic Corps, and many have wondered whether this decision is linked to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
Members of the royal family have spoken out in solidarity with the people of Ukraine, including the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle who issued a heartfelt message to the people of Ukraine.
Her Majesty's continuing health concerns are another possible factor for this cancellation.
After a brief hospital stay last year, it was announced that the Her Majesty had a sprained back and later photos of the Queen using a walking stick emerged. Since this health wobble, concern about the 95-year-old's health has increased and with this recent Covid diagnosis, fans are even more concerned.
The Queen has not been seen by the public since her Covid announcement on February 20. Most of her virtual appointments have been cancelled and Her Majesty has been recovering at Windsor Castle.
The Queen’s recent message of support to Team GB prompted an outpour of concern from fans who admitted, ‘we are so worried.' It is likely that this concern about Her Majesty's health will continue until she returns to royal duties.
