Strictly’s Rose and Giovanni are preparing to take to the ballroom with a truly romantic dance to help secure their place in this year’s grand final.
The Strictly Come Dancing 2021 final is now just over a week away, with just two performances standing in the way of each of the remaining Strictly 2021 couples from making it. Whilst some viewers continue to miss those who left Strictly Come Dancing over the past 11 weeks, looking ahead to the semi-final things are getting seriously exciting. Especially for fans of Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice, who’ve long been tipped to lift the glitterball trophy.
The EastEnders actor and professional dancer have given us some of this series’ most memorable and emotional dances. This includes their iconic silent dance which paid tribute to the deaf community and has earned Strictly’s Rose and Giovanni a huge accolade.
Now their songs and dances for the semi final have been revealed and one is incredibly romantic.
Rose and Giovanni will be dancing the Waltz, to Ellie Goulding’s How Long Will I Love You. The Waltz is a popular choice for weddings and has often been danced to love songs on Strictly, with its elegant moves making this perhaps one of the most beautiful ballroom dances to watch.
This dance reveal comes as their bond throughout the show has seen speculation about a possible romance between Strictly’s Rose and Giovanni arise. Especially after Giovanni emotionally told the actor, “I love you” after their wonderful couple’s choice performance, much to the delight of excited fans.
However, despite many people taking to social media in recent weeks to urge Giovanni Pernice and Rose Ayling-Ellis to “get together”, the pair are not actually dating. Giovanni is understood to be currently single after recently suggesting that rumours he was dating Made In Chelsea’s Verity Bowditch were “news to [him]”.
Whilst Rose has reportedly been in a relationship with her boyfriend Samuel Arnold for around seven years now. Despite the rumour and fans' hopes, Rose and Giovanni are just good friends and brilliant dancer partners.
This is something Giovanni discussed with the Sunday Times (opens in new tab), as he expressed his belief that winning now would just be an added bonus after all their wonderful performances so far.
“If we win, it’s the cherry on the cake,” Giovanni explained. “But this year has already been phenomenal for me and Rose. Realistically we have already won.”
Whilst Rose has previously opened up to Digital Spy (opens in new tab) about how her and Giovanni’s excellent “communication” is what really makes their “connection work”.
The Strictly star explained, “I think because of our communication, we have to look at each other, and we have to communicate because I can't hear. So in the dance, he's literally there every step that I do. Even if I'm doing solos, he's giving me timing, so no matter what we do, we're always looking at each other and we always know what each other's doing and I think that's what makes our connection work. We work."
With two performances, including their Waltz, left to show the Strictly 2021 judges and the voting public they deserve a place in the final, fans will be keeping their fingers crossed to see Strictly's Rose and Giovanni impress everyone once again.
