Irina Shayk gives Adidas Poppers fashion's seal of approval

'Popper joggers' are the new loungewear.

Ah, Adidas Poppers. For most of us, these alongside the best leggings were our off-duty look when we'd hung up our school uniforms. They may look like you've lost an argument with a tent on a windy day, but the trousers, unpopped over the chunkiest trainers we could find, were the height of cool back in the 90s.

Now [drumroll please] Adidas Poppers are back. In perhaps the most surprising fashion move of 2021 they have become the latest loungewear accessory as seen on celebrities and the fashion set.

It's like we've been building up to this seminal loungewear moment for years. In 2016, Rihanna and Kim Kardashian both suddenly resurrected the popper-sided tracksuit bottoms trend. Then, in 2018, Bella and Gigi Hadid jumped on board and now supermodel Irina Shayk has been spotted in her own Adidas joggers.

But that's not all. Adidas popper-inspired pants have now been seen on the streets of Paris, which is currently host to couture week. This sends out two messages. One, we can't even be bothered to don out best outfits for couture week - arguably the biggest event in the fashion calendar - any more. Two, this the most high-profile indication that popper pants are on trend in 2021.

We're putting our money on the second option.  As for how to wear them? With Uggs and a North Face puffer jacket, of course.
