Richard Madeley blasted for comments about Kate Middleton's weight
Richard Madeley has come under fire by viewers of GMB as he comments on the Duchess of Cambridge's figure
Richard Madeley made a comment about the Duchess of Cambridge's weight, that has been criticized by viewers who found this topic disrespectful and rude.
- On Good Morning Britain, Richard Madeley and co-host Susanna Reid discussed the Duchess of Cambridge's weight.
- The discussion was based on Kate Middleton's recent appearance at the Earthshot Prize Awards in London.
- In other royal news, Camilla sent Princess Diana a 'Mean Girls' style note before her wedding to Charles.
On the morning show, Richard said, "She’s so slim isn’t she, Kate," to which Susanna replied, "She is, isn’t she?"
Richard added that the Duchess of Cambridge had a "Tiny, tiny waist." To this, Susanna let out a small awkward laugh and said, "She looks absolutely terrific."
Although this was only a small interaction, fans were shocked by the presenter's comments about the royal's weight and took to social media to criticize him.
Fans pointed out that although the Duchess helping host an event that encouraged environmental change and innovative technology, all that the host could compliment her on was her weight.
"GMB show a video round-up of last night's Earthshot Prize featuring lots of innovative ideas for saving the planet. Richard Madeley's only response? "Hasn't she [Duchess of Cambridge] got a skinny waist?" said one fan.
"@GMB I cannot believe you employ Richard Madeley whose only comment about Earthshot was about the size of The Duchess of Cambridge's Waist. What an embarrassment." said another.

Other viewers called Good Morning Britain to search for another host and ditch Richard. "Is Richard Madeley the only option you have @GMB? I switched off this morning as soon as I saw he was on!" said another disappointed viewer.
Another agreed and said that they too switched off after seeing that Richard was hosting. "It’s a Richard Madeley day on #gmb !!!! *immediately switches off*" they said.

The Earthshot Prize is an environmental award that was invented by the Duke of Cambridge. The Prince was inspired by former President John F. Kennedy’s 'Moonshot' which was a cause that united millions of people in the goal of putting a man on the moon.
The Earthshot prize is focused on five goals; to protect and restore nature, clean our air, revive our oceans, build a waste-free world, and fix our climate.
Every year for the next ten years, five people will be awarded a £1million prize. These prizes are given to those who have provided solutions to some of the world's greatest environmental problems.
Sunday, October 17, 2021, was the first-ever Earthshot Prize Awards ceremony to take place. This event was held in London and was attended by royals, and other celebrities such as Emma Watson, Emma Thompson, and Ed Sheeran.
At this awards ceremony, Kate Middleton debuted a new red hair look that delighted fans. Her husband was also complimented for his dapper appearance as many compared Prince William's stylish look to James Bond.
