Prince William has revealed that the Cambridge children would be 'very jealous' of his latest public engagement with Kate Middleton, much to the amusement of royal fans.

Prince William shared a rare insight into his children's taste preferences on Sunday, admitting that they would be 'very jealous' of his latest public appearance with Kate Middleton.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge visited a cacao farm in Belize yesterday, marking the first stop on their week-long Caribbean tour to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. After learning how to make Mayan chocolate and sampling some of the treats themselves, the couple stepped outside for an 'impromptu' chat with a group of excited locals.

"We've just had a lot of chocolate, oh my goodness," William said, patting his stomach to imply he'd had enough of the sweet stuff for the day.

"It's wonderful to see the full production," Kate added, after asking their fans if they too liked chocolate.

The Duke also seemed particularly surprised by the process of making the popular confectionary, commenting, "You realize how much sugar goes into chocolate now. Wow."

It was during this conversation that William reportedly said that the couple's children, Prince George, 8, Princess Charlotte, 6, and three-year-old Prince Louis, would be 'very jealous' of their chocolate visit.

The snippet comes shortly after it was revealed that the Cambridge kids were envious that they didn't get to join Kate Middleton's Denmark trip

Speaking at the Lego Foundation Play Lab in Copenhagen last month, the 40-year-old said, “My children are very jealous they weren’t coming to see the Lego Foundation. They were like, ‘hang on, there’s Lego and we’re not coming?’"

Royal fans were quick to empathize with the young trio's FOMO while their mom and dad are in Belize, with one taking to Twitter to say she doesn't 'blame' them for their reaction.

The Cambridge kids have remained at their London home of Kensington Palace during their parents' overseas engagement, where they are likely being cared for by a team of highly-trained royal nannies.

Despite being unable to take them on tour due to conflicts with school, Prince William and Kate Middleton have still managed to include children on the Caribbean trip with a sweet tradition. The Duke has previously revealed that he always shows George, Charlotte, and Louis where they are going on a map before they head off.

The couple will spend two more days in Belize, before traveling to Jamaica and the Bahamas for another bout of royal engagements. It's hoped that Kate and William plan to strengthen ties between the Commonwealth countries and Britain during the tour with their 'charm offensive', in light of Barbados' recent transition to a republic.
