Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are expecting their second child, a daughter, and many fans think that the couple may name her in tribute to the Queen.
As a child, the Queen struggled to say her name ‘Elizabeth’ and instead would pronounce her name as ‘Lilibet.’ This lead to her family affectionately referring to the Queen as ‘Lilibet’ throughout her childhood. Even the Queen’s father King George VI was once quoted stating about his daughters, “Lilibet is my pride. Margaret is my joy."
Cosmopolitan reports that fans are speculating that Harry and Meghan may be inspired by this nickname ‘Lilibet,’ for their daughter’s name. One fan said on social media, “I'm not sure how relationships are between the family, but Lily would be a cute way to honor the Queen (Lilibet).”

Another fan on Reddit agreed, "I read a prediction somewhere that they could use Lily for the Queen because of her childhood nickname Lilibet and because of Meghan's wedding bouquet being Lily of the valley. I think that's really sweet."

However, there are other fans that are certain that Meghan and Harry's daughter's name will be inspired by a different member of the Royal family. One fan tweeted, "I feel like Meghan and Harry will name their daughter Alice Diana." Another joked, "if Harry and Meghan don’t name their daughter Diana."
Betvictor suggests that Diana is currently the most likely name for the royal’s daughter, with the odds at 7/1. Other top contenders include Alice (9/1), Grace (10/1), Isabella (12/1), and Alexandra (14/1). The names Celia and Doria are also potential options. Doria has the odds of 50/1 and Celia has the odds of 50/1. These names also pay homage to important people in the Royals couple's life. Doria, named after Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, and Celia, after Harry’s godmother who passed away last year, Lady Celia Vestey.
However, some experts think that Meghan and Harry may choose a unique name for their daughter. Baby name expert Jennifer Moss said, “Royals will always honor the generations before them, but as the royal family modernize over time, we will start to see more unique names appear. They’ll most likely be integrated in the middle as opposed to a leading name, to be subtle and not so shocking.”
