Courteney Cox has shut down joking allegations that she’s a cougar in the best way possible: by dropping a diss track.
The Friends actor was quick to respond to Idris Elba and Connor Price’s song, "Courteney Cox," after finding out she’d been the inspiration for the collaboration and one cheeky lyric.
The song, which was released on Wednesday on Connor’s YouTube channel, pays tribute to the actor in the catchy hook, “Cougar flirting with me, call her Courteney Cox.”
After hearing the reference to her, Courteney confronted the rappers in a slightly awkward video call.
“Holy crap, Courteney Cox, hi! I’m a really big fan of yours,” the shocked Canadian rapper replied when he saw his muse’s face on the screen.
“I’m the cougar, the one who comes in and starts flirting with you? Am I flirting with you?” Courteney interrogated the rapper.
Stumbling on his words, Conor asked Idris to explain for him, only to be thrown under the bus.
“For what it’s worth, I didn’t write that part,” Idris deadpanned.
“I appreciate the homage, but turns out rapping’s not that hard,” Courteney replied before bowing out with her own twist on the song.
“Sorry, Connor but the door’s locked / you just got a style that’s unorthodox / look who’s coming at you / yeah it’s Courteney Cox / I just killed the beat / yeah the mic has dropped.”

Despite her tough game, we don't think Courteney's too bothered by the homage. She even reposted it on her Instagram and signed off the call by wishing the boys luck on the song.
If you're wondering how this surreal rap came to be, it all started when Idris Elba sent out a social media call for a rapper who could freestyle with him. This call led him to actor and hip hop artist Connor Price, who is the genius behind the Friends-inspired lyric.
As for Courteney, this will likely be the last of her rapping endeavors. She has no plans to pursue a career in hip hop, admitting, "I think it's safe to say that was probably my last rap."
