- Most spare time was spent watching TV or streaming shows and films - with 89% of the population engaged in watching TV in the UK with an increased monthly spend of £1.44.
- Each person spent approximately 92 extra minutes were spend per month watching TV or film.
- Meanwhile an additional 46 minutes a month were spent playing video games - amounting to 47% of the population spending an extra £2.06 a month.
- Those who experimented with being green-fingered spent 84 minutes more than usual in the garden.
With most of us saving money on commuting to work, more money has been spent on hobbies such as painting, playing instruments, writing and listening to music - to name but a few.
Gardening saw the largest increase in spending across all hobbies, with an average increase of £5.69 per person each month. No doubt those gardeners will be hunting down the Black Friday Christmas Tree deals.
Those who prefer to light a candle from the Black Friday Yankee Candle sale and sit down with a good book, spent an extra 63 minutes reading and £1.97 on books each month than before lockdown.
And not forgetting those of us who realised we needed new baking / cooking sets after finding a new love of food. Check out these Black Friday Le Creuset deals if you need to revamp your kitchen for lockdown part two.
With an average of people spending an extra 77 minutes in the kitchen - each buying £3.98 worth of extra ingredients a month there was £270m spent across the UK.
And as Christmas approaches, no doubt even more of us will be looking for some great films to fill our time with - aside from wrapping presents of course!
