Kate Middleton's straight hair wowed fans at a recent royal engagement as the Duchess of Cambridge moved away from her typical curly bouncy locks.

Kate Middleton's glossy hair has been the envy of many royal fans who adore the Duchess of Cambridge's luscious bouncy curls. However, Catherine decided to opt for a very different look when she attended an awards ceremony at London’s Design Museum and presented the Queen Elizabeth II Award to an emerging designer, Saul Nash.

Arriving at the event, Kate Middleton stuns in flattering green belted dress that couldn’t be more different from her usual style. Similarly, for this high-fashion event, Kate also opted to re-invent her hairstyle and went for poker straight '70s style hair with a straight middle parting.

Typically the Duchess opts for a side parting with bouncing blow-out curls, but her stylist clearly had no issue styling straight hair as Catherine looked fantastic in this throwback style look.

The style from Kate emulated Cher's classic '70's hair as the Duchess had a slight lift of volume at the back hair, but the rest of her sleek locks were held in place with a straight middle parting and tucked neatly behind Kate's ears.

This was a look that the icon Cher was well known for in the 70's and is still to this day one of the most popular hairstyles for straight hair

This look can be achieved with your best hair straighteners, or best ghd straighteners and with a small comb that can help you to separate your hair into a clear middle parting.

Kate Middleton's hair transformation over the years has been incredible, just last year Kate Middleton stunned with a red hair color tint in her brunette locks, and earlier in the year Kate Middleton was seen with caramel highlights

It's clear that the Duchess isn't afraid to take chances when it comes to her hair color and although the Duchess seems comfortable with her classic loose curls and blow-out 'do, it's exciting to see that she is also willing to switch up her classic styling techniques and opt for a fun '70's throwback look.
