Victoria Beckham just proved this accessory colour is the secret to making tailoring look chic
She used one of this season's hottest colours to add warmth to her grey suit
When Victoria Beckham endorses a trend, you can trust that it’ll be here to stay. So, when she styled the oversized grey power suit that’s become her signature look for Paris Fashion Week again this year, but updated her look with accessories in autumn’s trendiest hue, I immediately bookmarked it.
For her SS27 show last week, Victoria wore a grey suit made up of a shoulder-padded blazer and a pair of matching long, tailored trousers. It’s a look that echoed the oversized suits and fluid trousers her models walked down the catwalk in, making it the perfect look for the occasion.
Making it even chicer was her choice of colour palette. Alongside her grey suit, she sported a black, scoop-neck top and brought in a third neutral by adding a brown belt, while a pair of brown heels was just visible beneath the hemline of her trousers. Chocolatey, rich and warm, the accessories brought an earthy dimension to the look and, while black heels would have been the obvious choice with grey tailoring, brown felt softer and better placed to complement the season.

These Reiss trousers share the same long, wide-leg cut as Victoria's favourite trouser styles, with their pleats adding dimension to their shape. They're available in petite as well as regular lengths, with their wool-blend fabric lending them a luxe, high-end feel.
This Reiss blazer is tailored in a double-breasted silhouette, with a relaxed fit given structure by the neat peak lapels and six-button fastening. You'll want to wear this style unbuttoned if you're recreating Victoria's look, which is no problem with this style as it's fully lined for a sleek finish.
Victoria loves to pair suits with simple T-shirts, which brings an effortlessly cool edge to all her suited-and-booted outfits. This Jigsaw tee shares the same scoop neckline as the style she wore recently, and it's made from 100% cotton for a breathable finish.
With gold-toned hardware lending a luxe look to this belt, it's been noted by shoppers that the accessory is 'durable' and 'good quality' despite costing less than £10. In addition to a warm, tan brown, you can pick it up in a variety of colours, both neutral and bold.
Wearing this trio of neutrals might seem surprising, but we know that grey and black pair perfectly, while brown and grey work particularly well together because they create a natural balance between cool tones (grey) and warm earth tones (brown). It’s a subtle contrast, but its impact is undeniable.
Now is a good time to be thinking of ways to warm up grey, whether doing so with a suited-and-booted style or something totally casual, with autumn’s moodboard calling for muted but rich neutral tones. There's no easier way to do this than with chocolatey brown hues, which have the added benefit of dominating the autumn/winter fashion colour trends for 2026.
Victoria proves that all you need is a brown belt and a matching pair of shoes in a capsule wardrobe. It’s so simple to follow her lead and bring in some seasonal warmth to any outfit with brown accessories like hers.
