This historic chateau in southern France is Airbnb’s most 'liked' photo from 2020

Vacation daydreaming is at an all-time high, hazy sun-filled afternoons lolling around in the rolling countryside of Southern France or sunbathing by the dreamiest of pools has never seemed so appealing.
All of course amplified by the fact that travel is well and truly off the cards, but that doesn’t mean we can’t be inspired or take joy from Airbnb’s stunning homestays around the globe, bookmark them now for trips in the future.
The vacation rentals company revealed its most liked photos from their wanderlust-inducing Instagram feed - from tropical beach huts, lakeside abodes, and architecturally stunning homes - all destinations that’ll inspire any travel lover.

Taking the top spot with over 76,000 likes is a stunning old château, complete with a picture-perfect pool in the south of France.

The 16th-century chateau in the small commune town of Saint Victor la Coste features wooden beamed ceilings, a huge kitchen, its own private pool, and has views out across Côtes du Rhône vineyards. Surrounded by forests and medieval villages, it’s the ideal place to escape reality for a week or two.
Coming in at second place with 67,000 likes is a stunning beachside cabin overlooking the wild waves of Punta Quitay in the Valparaiso region of Chile. With a glass-fronted deck and kitchen that looks out across the sea, the cabin has some of the best views in the world.

Just one hour 30 minutes from the country's capital of Santiago, the cabin makes the ideal base to explore Chile’s fascinating coast.
Third up, and another Airbnb space with miraculous views is this stunning lodge nestled in the foothills around Lake Atitlán in Guatemala.

Garnering over 66,000 likes, the villa is available to rent year-round and has unrivaled views of the lake and nearby San Pedro volcano. Situated in the south of Guatemala, Lake Atitlan is a magical place with tiny villages dotted across the lakeshore. It’s also home to the legendary Mayan deity Maximón who you can visit while staying at the lake.
