The Queen, 'will not undertake events,' such as large scale honours again, says source
Is Kate stepping into her shoes?
The Queen "will not undertake events," such as large-scale investitures again, says a source. This news comes as the monarch's latest health scare sparks concerns that she's finally stepping down from public service. The monarch's last-minute cancellation indicates she's no longer able to attend public engagements, as Kate Middleton steps forward.

Following the sad news that the Queen was 'disappointed' to be missing Remembrance Sunday after spraining her back, many believe that her days of public service are over.
Her Majesty was said to be 'disappointed' to miss the event which was to be one of her first major appearances since a recent hospital stay which had fans concerned.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson referred to the monarch's wellbeing during a Downing Street press conference.
"I know that everybody will be wanting to offer their best wishes to her majesty the Queen," he said. "And I just wanted to reassure everybody by saying that I did see the Queen for an audience last week on Wednesday in Windsor and she’s very well."
He added, "It shouldn’t need saying but I just wanted to say it anyway."
This assertion of her wellbeing comes as many in royal circles believe that, even after her recovery, she won't return to attending large public events.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, one source said stepping back doesn't mean complete retirement for the Queen. "I firmly believe the public won’t see her out and about as much," they said. "That said, she will still be visible, carrying out less taxing engagements within palace walls."
Explaining further they added, "The whole video and virtual engagement development as a result of Covid has given palace aides options they didn’t have before. But there will definitely be a change in pace."
It's not only a change of pace that's happening at the palace, but potentially a change of who's readying themselves to step into her shoes as the female head of the family. And many believe that Kate Middleton’s ‘significant placement’ at Remembrance service proves her new position in the royal family.
Recently, a stylist noticed that Kate Middleton ditched key item—indicating she's grown in confidence. However, only time will tell if that confidence boost is in preparation to take center stage in public events.
