Kate Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge, and Prince William, have the challenging job of raising children who are heirs to the throne. This means that there's a huge amount of scrutiny on the couple to behave as the perfect parents for these children who may one day wear the crown.
Particular attention is paid to Kate and how the Duchess manages to keep her young children behaving at royal events. Any parent will tell you that getting a toddler to behave when they feel like throwing a tantrum is a losing game, but Duchess Kate has reportedly come up with an ingenious solution to keep her royal brood in check.
According to The Sun, Kate has a very handy trick that helps her keep her children in line and behaving when they're in public.
The royal mama uses the phrase, "Let's take a break," when she wants her young children to stop misbehaving. This phrase is almost like a code word as it lets the children know that they can calm down and be listened to by their parents.
“Kate is a sensitive and warm mum. This is a called an authoritative style of parenting that is now encouraged," said Dr. Rebecca Chicot, founder of Essential Parent and the author of the Calm and Happy Toddler, to The Sun.
"It’s very hard for any parent to have to parent in public," continued the parenting expert. "She gets down to their level to talk to them but lets them be children. She has a lovely balance of sensitivity and gentle boundaries. She doesn’t expect them to behave like little adults and knows that children go through perfectly natural stages like tantrums."

The Duchess has also admitted that she has taken a lot of advice from other members of her family who have helped her with her parenting style.
Previously, she confided in the Queen when she struggled with motherhood and has revealed that her grandmother-in-law has been a huge help during her journey into motherhood.
The Duchess also revealed that the special woman who inspired Kate Middleton's parenting style, is her “amazing granny” Valerie Glassborow.
Kate said that she tries to encourage her children to cook and grow food in the garden with her in order to give them a more rounded education.
