Princess Anne might be considered a very reserved individual and a traditionally composed royal, a body language expert claims that her demeanor with her grandchildren indicates that she's a total softy at heart.

Princess Anne might be reserved in public but the former Olympian is very different in private, claims a body language expert.

Body language expert Judi James told the Express that behind closed doors it's likely that she's considerably more affectionate.

"Princess Anne has never been a lover of the PDA, posing in a more traditional, hands-off way with two husbands and her own children," said Judi. The expert said that in actual fact, according to her daughter Zara Tindall's parenting style, it's clear that the Princess Royal is actually very affectionate.

"But the way that daughter Zara has emerged as a wonderfully tactile and openly affectionate woman suggests there might have been a very different version of her mother away from the cameras," Judi told the publication.

The expert added that, like most grandparents, Princess Anne dotes on her five grandkids. Only a portion of the Queen's great-grandchildren which, since Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo welcomed a baby girl, is now a dozen!

Judi explained, "With her grandchildren, we do finally get to see the more demonstrative side to the Princess."

Princess Anne's son Peter Phillips has two daughters, Savannah and Isla. Her daughter, Zara Tindall has two daughters, Mia and Lena, and a son, Lucas.

Judi said, "With both Zara’s daughters having clearly inherited the tendency to look like free spirits with a huge enjoyment of life, the filter is off in terms of the way that Anne behaves towards them in public."

She added, "It can be a joy to watch, as it does allow us a peek of the real Anne."

The apple doesn't fall far from the tree when it comes to being a super grandma as Zara Tindall previously made a sweet admission about her relationship with the Queen.

As time passes, the Princess Royal is proving to be not only a softy but a bit of a joker too. For example, when Princess Anne was mistaken for Prince Charles, her reaction was excellent and left all present in a fit of laughter!
