John Legend has praised his wife Chrissy Teigen for her decision to share her pregnancy loss with her fans, explaining that it was 'the right thing to do.'
The Grammy award-winning singer admitted that he was initially apprehensive to go public with the devastating news, but is now 'so glad' he followed 'Chrissy's instinct.'
Speaking on CBS This Morning, John revealed that he is a 'bit more private' than his supermodel wife, who is known for regularly posting updates on her personal life on Instagram and Twitter.
Chrissy received an outpouring of support last October when she chose to share the tragic stillbirth of the couple's baby, Jack, with her millions of followers. Her candid honesty prompted a widespread discussion on miscarriage and pregnancy loss, which ultimately inspired her to launch her own campaign to help women struggling with fertility.

John, who tends to keep a lower profile than Chrissy, has now commended his wife for being so open about their ordeal.
"Chrissy is always more sharing than I am," John said, prompting a knowing chuckle from host Gayle King. While he was originally hesitant to inform the world of the stillbirth, he now believes it was a positive experience.

The R&B musician said the process made him feel less isolated, making him aware of 'how often this happens to so many other families around the world.' He and Chrissy created an unintentional online support network by sharing the news, which allowed them to reach out to others who had suffered a pregnancy loss.
"We felt a real sense of community by sharing it with other people, and they felt seen by us, we felt seen by them," he explained.

"I think it helps everyone deal with their grief when they know there are other people out there who are feeling it. I am so glad Chrissy's instinct was to share this because it was really the right thing to do."
John, who has two other children with Chrissy, also mentioned how building a community can help ease the common emotions attached to miscarriage.
"People feel such shame, and they feel lonely, and I think we help people feel less lonely," he added.
