Dr Jill Biden and Jennifer Garner have partnered up to address a crucial issue gripping the US - child poverty.

The First Lady of the United States will be joined by A-list actor Jennifer, who was an avid supporter of the 2020 Biden-Harris campaign, on her ‘Help is Here’ tour in Alabama this Friday. The tour is part of multiple outreach efforts to promote the American Rescue Plan, a $1.9 trillion dollar relief package signed into law by President Biden on March 11.

The 13 Going on 30 star will accompany Jill on her trip down south to publicize how the bill will help combat childhood poverty in Alabama, one of the country’s poorest states. The two women are scheduled to visit the Jasper Area Family Service Center in Jasper and the YWCA of Central Alabama in Birmingham, where they will meet with locals to raise awareness of how the Biden administration’s latest project will impact families with children.

This isn’t the first time Jennifer has been involved in social activism.

The Yes Day actor previously worked with Jill Biden on Save the Children, an emergency aid organization for young people which provides education, health care, and employment. The mom of three is particularly passionate about empowering the nation’s kids, often choosing to support charities that serve low-income children and parents.

Jennifer was praised for her launch of the No Kid Hungry campaign at the beginning of the pandemic, an initiative that sought to ensure vulnerable children still received adequate nutrition while schools were shut.

Along with fellow actor Amy Adams, she helped to fund over 1 billion meals with her clever idea, ‘Save with Stories.’ The fundraiser saw a variety of celebrities, including Ellen DeGeneres and Helen Mirren, read stories to children on Instagram Live. Donations went to supporting food banks, mobile food trucks, and community feeding programs, as well as to pay for educational resources for kids.
