The British Academy Film and Television Awards, also known as the BAFTAS 2022 are set to take place this evening in London, here is everything you need to know about this awards ceremony.

Although there was a BAFTA ceremony in just March 2022 which was hosted by Rebel Wilson, that was a celebration of films, whereas this ceremony is a celebration of television.

From Strictly Come Dancing, to It's a Sin there are a number of incredible British television shows that have been nominated at the BAFTA awards this evening, but what awards have your favorite shows been nominated for, and are any of your favorite actors expected to win any award? How to watch the BAFTAS

The BAFTAS will be shown on BBC1 and BBC iPlayer from 6 pm until 8 pm on Sunday, May 8, 2022. 

This means it will be shown at 1 pm Sunday, Eastern Time (ET) for viewers in the US. Viewers in the US, Canada, and South Africa can watch the awards ceremony by signing up to Britbox. The subscription-based streaming platform from BBC studios.

BAFTA Nominations 2022

The nominees for the best drama series are, In My Skin, Manhunt: The Night Stalker, Unforgotten, and Vigil.

The nominees for the best entertainment program are, An Audience with Adele, Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, Life & Rhymes, and Strictly Come Dancing. 

The nominees in the International category include Call My Agent!, Lupin, Mare of Easttown, Squid Game, Succession, and The Underground Railroad.

The nominees for leading actor include David Thewlis in Landscapers, Hugh Quarshie in Stephen, Olly Alexander in It's a Sin, Samuel Adewunmi in You Don't Know Me, Sean Bean in Time, and Stephen Graham in Help.

The nominees for leading actress are Denise Gough for Too Close, Emily Watson for Too Close, Jodie Comer for Help, Kate Winslet for Mare of Easttown, Lydia West for It's a Sin, and Niamh Algar for Deceit.

As voted for the public, the Virgin Media's must-see moments are, Adele being surprised by the teacher who changed her life during An Audience with Adeld, Ant and Dec making a dig at Downing Street’s lockdown parties during Saturday Night Takeaway, Colin’s devastating AIDS diagnosis in It's A Sin, ‘UK Hun?’ Bimini’s verse during RuPaul's Drag Race UK, the Red Light, Green Light game in Squid Game, and Rose and Giovanni’s silent dance to ‘Symphony’ on Strictly Come Dancing.

Who is hosting the BAFTAS 2022?

The host of the BAFTAS 2022 is Richard Ayoade who is best known for his work in The IT Crowd, Travel Man, and The Crystal Maze. 

In March 2022, Rebel Wilson hosted the BAFTAs (the 75th British Academy Film Awards) which celebrated the best of British films. This ceremony on May 8, will not include any film nominations and will only celebrate the best of television.
