Gilmore Girls fans can breathe a collective sigh of relief because Lauren Graham is finally coming back to your screen.
The beloved TV star's latest venture, The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, brings the classic 1990s Disney films into the present.
What we know about The Mighty Ducks so far
The Disney+ series will reunite fans of the sports-comedy movie franchise with the cinema's most famous hockey team, the Ducks, for ten episodes. With a release date set for March 26th, we're already excited for our Lorelai fix.
Lauren stars as Alex, the supportive mother of 12-year-old Evan, who's been kicked off the team after failing to meet its elite standards. In a desperate pursuit to see her son fulfill his hockey-playing dreams, Alex puts together a new team with the help of the Ducks' OG coach, Gordon Bombay. It's basically Lorelai, but this time she's rooting for an aspiring hockey kid rather than a teenage genius.
In the moving trailer for The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers, Lauren's character challenges the toxic competition of kids' sports by recruiting some not-so-tough players to the new Underdogs team. She's also seen doling out some words of encouragement to Evan after his devastating dismissal from the Ducks.
“I want you to think about all the other kids who have been told that they’re too small or too slow. They just wanna get out there and play,” she says in one heart-warming moment.
Despite Covid-19 restrictions, production went ahead in British Columbia after Disney ensured that the crew and cast all tested negative for the virus. Production also kept the crew's size at a minimum to lower the risk of a significant outbreak.

The feel-good series, which wrapped up filming in December 2020, looks like it will give us all a much-needed boost this spring.
Lauren's performance of Alex has us tearing up at the power of family love, reminding us all of what matters during this difficult time.
From renting an ice rink to cheering on the sidelines, it seems there's nothing this committed mom won't do to make her son happy. And while the show's setting of Minneapolis is not exactly leafy New England, it's still cold enough for us to get those Gilmore Girl vibes.
