Chrissy Teigen quits Twitter as she announced she's suffered a barrage of abuse.

The mum-of-two, who is the wife of singer John Legend, bid farewell to her 13.7 million followers after revealing she had turned into a "different human" as a result of online trolling she has received from some users.

The internet is easily accessible, but unlike the best eReaders which are primarily for reading books, devices such as mobile phones, computers, and laptops enable users to access social media around-the-clock and not all interactions are pleasant.

Now Chrissy has decided to take back charge of her happiness. She wrote, "Hey. For over 10 years, you guys have been my world. I honestly owe so much to this world we have created here. I truly consider so many of you my actual friends. But it's time for me to say goodbye. This no longer serves me as positively as it serves me negatively, and I think that's the right time to call something."

Chrissy, who has provoked responses to her witty remarks on both Twitter and Instagram, was blocked by former US President Donald Trump as a result and demanded the presidential account refollow her when Joe Biden took office.

As Chrissy Teigen quits, she continued, "My life goal is to make people happy. The pain I feel when I don't is too much for me. I've always been portrayed as the strong clap back girl but I'm just not."

Chrissy received widespread praise after revealing personal images following her miscarriage of baby Jack but not all the responses have been positive and as Chrissy Teigen quits Twitter she admitted she was "sensitive" and added, "One thing I haven't learned is how to block out the negativity. I don't wanna be this way! I just am! But I love you guys and I cherish our time together, I truly do," she wrote.

"I also hate you. I encourage you to know and never forget that your words matter. No matter what you see, what that person portrays, or your intention. For years I have taken so many small, 2-follower count punches that at this point, I am honestly deeply bruised."

Signing off she said, "Please know all I ever cared about was you!!!" And a final post with a heart appeared before her account was deactivated but her Instagram account is still active as she posted a sunset photo of her in the bath with her two children daughter Luna, four, and Miles, aged two.
