Britney Spears is set to write a memoir after securing a book deal worth an estimated $15 million, according to publishing insiders.
The US pop star will be adding 'author' to her already stellar résumé, having reportedly agreed to tell her life story in her first-ever memoir.
The exciting news, which was initially reported by the New York Post, comes just a few months after Britney Spears was freed from her controversial conservatorship.
The 40-year-old has signed a lucrative contract with the major American publishing company, Simon & Schuster, a source close to the A-lister has told CNN. It's understood that the arrangement was sealed after a bidding war between various publishers, all of whom were desperate to work with Britney on the highly-anticipated memoir.
"The deal is one of the biggest of all time, behind the Obamas," a source explained to the New York Post.

While details of the forthcoming book remain unknown, it's been widely speculated that the Toxic singer will use the opportunity to respond to the claims made in her younger sister's 2021 memoir, Things I Should Have Said.
In the Barnes & Noble bestseller, Jamie Lynn Spears alleged that Britney armed herself with a knife before locking both of them in a room when Jamie was 12. Britney vehemently denied the incident ever happened, taking to social media to refute the accusations.
“I've never been around you ever with a knife or would I ever even think to do such!!! The only knife I ever saw you with at home was cutting the biggest piece of squash I ever saw in my life and it was way too big for me to cut…so please stop with these crazy lies for the Hollywood books," she wrote.

Britney’s attorney subsequently sent Jamie Lynn a 'cease and desist' letter, asking that she refrain from speaking 'derogatorily' about his client while on her book press tour.
Jamie Lynn's lawyer, Bryan J. Freedman, fired back with his own letter, demanding that Britney stop using 'vile' language to describe her estranged family members online. It's understood that their feud is ongoing, with neither sister on speaking terms at this point in time.
Meanwhile, Britney is celebrating a fresh start as she begins her new life post-conservatorship. The mom-of-two was released from the 13-year-long arrangement in November 2021, after a lengthy legal battle bolstered by the fan-led #FreeBritney campaign. Britney announced she was engaged to boyfriend Sam Asghari in September 2021 and has since said she wants to have a baby girl with the 27-year-old personal trainer.
