Sainsbury’s are launching Valentine’s Day meals for *less* than £20

Couple having dinner

If you don’t fancy splashing out on Valentine’s Day this year, but still want to do something nice with a loved one, Sainsbury’s may have the answer.

The popular retailer is offering Valentine’s Day meals for two people, including prosecco, for less than £20!

This is perfect for those wanting to do Valentine’s Day in style but still on a budget.

So what could we be tucking into on the 14th of February?

You could have the Sainsbury’s surf and turf Valentine’s dinner for only £18.25. This includes a starter, main, one side, dessert and, of course, that all important bottle of fizz!

The starter is sweet chili prawns which can be followed by rump steaks with heart-shaped pink peppercorn butter. It is the most romantic day of the year after all…

And what else would you want with your steak other than a side of crispy triple cooked chips in beef dripping?

Chocolate fans are in for a treat when they hear what is for dessert. You can top off your meal with a Gü zillionaires salted caramel cheesecake. How dreamy!

If this menu doesn’t tickle you however, there is another option on offer. The second, very similar, menu on offer is the sweetheart steak and chips for only £15.75.

The same steak and chips are available but with this option you can have two sides rather than a starter. The other side available is asparagus so a good option for those who fancy adding some greenery to their plate!

Again, this menu can be washed down with a bottle of Edizione 789 Di Mondelli Prosecco.

The offer is available from the 6th to the 14th of February.

The Sainsbury’s Valentine’s Day menus are only suitable for meat eaters which led one person on social media to ask, ‘What if your loved one is vegetarian or vegan @sainsburys ? Where's our Valentine's meal deal?’

Other supermarkets, such as Marks and Spencer, are offering vegetarian and vegan options within their Valentine's Day meal deals so there is something out there for everyone!

But if you’re a meat lover, this is quite the feast. Will you be indulging in this decadent menu?

It’s not too late to cancel your restaurant reservations… see you at the checkout!
