Sarah Ferguson praises Meghan Markle following the royals venture into the publishing industry


Meghan Markle has been praised by fellow member of the royal family Sarah Ferguson who has celebrated her move into the world of publishing.

In a recent interview with Daily Mail, the Duchess of York defended Meghan’s decision to create a book and said that the Duchess of Sussex should be respected. “To sit down and work hard to write a book, in any genre, should be supported and respected,” said Sarah Ferguson.
Sarah's comments were in response to the news that Meghan Markle has made a huge announcement about a new creative project and revealed that she will be publishing a book this year. The picture book is titled The Bench and will be released on June 8, 2021.
Sarah Ferguson went on to say that she would always encourage women in particular to explore creative literature. She said, “To encourage literacy in general, not just children's books, is a love of mine and to encourage more women to delve into their creative selves and get a book out is very well done.”

Sarah has released many children’s books but she is is about to release her first attempt at adult fiction with her historical Royal Family romance novel, Her Heart For A Compass. The book is co-written with Marguerite Kaye and will be published by Mills and Boon.
Sarah went on to speak about this upcoming novel and revealed that she put pen to paper during the pandemic. She said, "I have written 74 books over 30 years but this one is special as it was written during the pandemic and is my first ever historical novel.”
She also revealed that although she has only published children's literature for years, she has wanted to write historical romances for some time. She said, “[This is] something I have been waiting to write for 15 years.”
The Duchess of York’s novel Her Heart for A Compass will be published on 28th July 2021. Meghan’s picture book will be published just a month before on 8th June 2021.
