Prince William and Kate Middleton have taken to Instagram to share a very special photo of their youngest child Prince Louis in honor of his third birthday on 23rd April. His is not the only royal birthday this week, as his great-grandmother the Queen celebrated hers just days earlier.
Plans for the monarch’s 95th birthday were reportedly suspended following Prince Philip’s funeral. However she did release a message giving thanks for the “support and kindness” she and the Royal Family have received at this difficult time.
It’s thought that Prince William and Kate Middleton have found a special way to help their three children cope with the loss of Prince Philip and remember him. He will no doubt be in all of their thoughts as they celebrate Prince Louis’ happy day today.

The caption reveals that, as with many of the birthday photos posted each year of Louis and his siblings Prince George and Princess Charlotte, it was taken by Kate herself. She is known to have an “amazing eye for photos” and she’s captured Louis reaching another important milestone moment this week. Not only has he now turned 3, but he has also started nursery.
“Three tomorrow! 🚲 Taken earlier this week by The Duchess before he left for his first day of nursery, The Duke and Duchess are pleased to share a new image of Prince Louis. 🎈” the caption stated.

This is a huge milestone for Louis and royal fans were quick to express their delight—as well as their astonishment that the little prince has turned 3 already.
“Happy birthday Louis!! Can’t believe he’ll be three 😭 ” one wrote, while another agreed, commenting: “3?! He was only born the other day”.
“Oh my goodness he is absolutely adorable. Just like his big brother and sister” someone else declared while a fellow royal fan exclaimed, “He’s just like George😱 ”.

Prince Louis has now followed in George and Charlotte’s footsteps and gone off to nursery. Given that both his siblings attend Thomas’s Battersea school, it’s likely he will then go on to join them there when he is older.
In the meantime, he is likely to be enjoying settling into nursery and taking his bike out for a spin!
