Prince Harry is said to be in charge of ordering a delicious cake for Meghan Markle’s 40th birthday and the company they’ve reportedly chosen is sure to create something magnificent.
- Prince Harry is allegedly responsible for ordering Meghan Markle’s 40th birthday cake from Santa Barbara bakery, Posies & Sugar.
- The acclaimed bakery specializes in bespoke ‘naked’ cakes and if they do create one for Meghan, it’s sure to be spectacular.
- This royal news comes as the Queen couldn’t be more casual in a new unearthed video.
Prince Harry is said to have been entrusted with ordering his wife Meghan Markle’s 40th birthday cake ready for her celebrations. The Duchess of Sussex will mark her milestone day on August 4, exactly two months after she and Prince Harry welcomed their daughter, Lilibet ‘Lili’ Diana. The proud mom is still on parental leave after Lilibet’s birth and reports have suggested that she will celebrate her 40th birthday with a low-key party.
Meghan has also reportedly hired party planner to the stars—including her neighbor and friend Oprah Winfrey—Colin Cowie to organize the occasion. But it’s now been claimed that the special responsibility for ordering her birthday cake has instead fallen to Meghan’s royal husband.
According to Tatler, Prince Harry is said to be responsible for ordering a cake from Santa Barbara bakery, Posies & Sugar.

Posies & Sugar specializes in bespoke ‘naked’ cake designs—a style of cake that sees some of the sponge cake layers showing through the frosting decoration. They also favor beautiful floral adornments to add an extra magical touch to their already stunning creations.
The largest cake Posies & Sugar lists on their website is a three-tiered round cake (4’’/6’’/9’’) that serves up to 30 people and costs $225, perfect for guests to enjoy at celebrations. And when it comes to the flavors that the California bakery offers, the possible cake and frosting combinations are endless, making the process truly unique.

From Classic Red Velvet, to fresh and zesty Lemon Drop and Strawberry Bliss, full of fresh Central Coast strawberries, the sponges sound mouth-watering. Whilst options such as classic white buttercream, coconut whipped cream and maple cream cheese frosting are sure to give the chosen cakes a contrasting sweet dimension.
It’s not known what cake flavor combination Prince Harry could choose for Meghan’s 40th birthday, though their previous cake choices could perhaps give an indication of their royal preference.
For their wedding back in 2018, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex opted for a fresh lemon and elderflower sponge made by Claire Ptak of Violet Cakes in London. Given the hot California weather and their love of citrus, it's possible that they will lean towards a similarly fresh option again for Meghan's birthday.
It’s not yet been officially confirmed exactly where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will be ordering her 40th birthday cake from. However, it seems likely that whichever bakery the couple do choose, Meghan will be enjoying a delicious and beautiful creation on her big day.
