Kate Middleton stuns as she recreates wedding day hair for visit to Westminster Abbey

The Duchess ups the romance stakes on the eve of her 10th wedding anniversary

BELFAST, NORTHERN IRELAND - FEBRUARY 27: (EMBARGOED FOR PUBLICATION IN UK NEWSPAPERS UNTIL 24 HOURS AFTER CREATE DATE AND TIME) Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge arrives for a visit to Windsor Park Stadium, home of the Irish Football Association on February 27, 2019 in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Prince William last visited Belfast in October 2017 without his wife, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, who was then pregnant with the couple's third child. This time the couple concentrate on the young people of Northern Ireland. Their engagements include a visit to Windsor Park Stadium, home of the Irish Football Association, activities at the Roscor Youth Village in Fermanagh, a party at the Belfast Empire Hall, Cinemagic - a charity that uses film, television and digital technologies to inspire young people and finally dropping in on a SureStart early years programme. Lucky for us, we were given a second glimpse of Kate Middleton's wedding day hair this week.

The Duchess of Cambridge rarely steps out of her comfort zone when it comes to her tresses, alternating between a bouncy blow-dry and a super sleek style that no doubt owes its smoothness to the best hair straighteners.

But when she does switch things up a bit, it immediately sends royal fans into a frenzy. Take for example the Disney Princess ringlets she donned back in November or when she experimented with caramel blonde highlights, which fast became the most popular Kate Middleton lockdown hairstyle.

But perhaps our favorite look of all time, and the one that first started our obsession with the Duchess' hair, was the style she chose for her wedding day. And this week we were reminded just how elegant and feminine that look was.

Her latest public engagement was shared via the official Kensington Royal Instagram. The post read, "On the National #DayofReflection, one year since the first lockdown in the UK, The Duke and Duchess took part in a moment of reflection at Westminster Abbey, following their visit to the Abbey’s vaccination centre."

To mark the occasion, the Duchess wore a chic white shift coat but the cherry on the top? The same wavy half-up hairstyle she chose for her bridal look in that exact same church back in 2011.

The front section was pinned back and twisted at the crown of her head, while the rest of her long brunette locks fell in soft waves. This flashback moment has left many reminiscing on the royal wedding but perhaps for the Duchess, it is a personal nod to her upcoming 10-year wedding anniversary.

A decade ago, the Duchess of Cambridge walked down the same aisle with her hair in a half up-do, courtesy of hairdresser James Pryce from Richard Ward's salon.

At the time it seems the Duchess staged her own hair rebellion. According to a documentary about the royal wedding, William & Kate: The Journey, royal reporter Ashley Pearson claims that the bride was given official hair advice to wear a full up-do but chose to ignore it in favor of this romantic style.

Thank goodness she did, as it's been the hair inspiration we've constantly fallen back on for the past 10 years.
