Carole Middleton is a dream in denim as she takes style tips from Meghan Markle by wearing two shades at once
Carole Middleton's double denim outfit is the perfect casual look that's also adored by the Duchess of Sussex
Carole Middleton's double denim look has delighted royal fans as the Princess' mother seems to have borrowed some style tips from across the pond.
- Carole Middleton is Catherine, the Princess of Wales' mother and owner of the brand Party Pieces.
- While launching a new brand project, Carole showed off an on-trend look as she rocked double denim.
- In other royal news, King Charles isn’t the most influential royal – find out where he lands on the list and which of his family members rank higher.
All eyes were on Carole Middleton's latest look as she paired dark blue jeans with a light blue denim shirt, pulling off the notoriously tricky double-denim look. Carole broke up the color scheme of the all-blue ensemble with a cool brown leather belt.
The double denim look was particularly trendy in the 1980s, particularly in the US, and is still popular with some royals. Pairing jeans with a denim shirt is typically called a Canadian tuxedo, and it was this exact look that Carole opted for in her latest look.
To emulate Carole's style simply wear a light blue denim shirt with a darker pair of jeans. Carole opted for a pair of almost-navy wide-leg jeans, but any pair in rich blue denim will work.

Carole may have taken style tips from members of the extended Royal Family with this look, as the Canadian tuxedo was seen earlier this year on another stylish member of the family.
In June, while watching Prince Harry play Polo in Santa Barbara, Meghan Markle recreated Princess Diana’s double denim look but added a Californian twist. The Duchess of Sussex opted for denim shorts instead of long jeans that would have been too warm in the sunny weather.
While in Uganda for a royal visit, Princess Anne rocked double denim and 'snazzy' sunglasses as she undertook a four-day-long tour in support of her patronages.
